A Global service project
Our Purpose
During the 2014-2015 school year, Rock Quarry Middle School students, faculty members, and parents, along with other Tuscaloosa community members are joining together to raise funds for the building of a permanent school facility in the Ikota community of Lagos, Nigeria.
Our goal is to raise a total of $425,000, which will allow for the completion of this permanent structure and will improve the physical conditions in which exemplary teaching and learning are already occurring on-site.

Learning goals
We hope to make this a powerful learning experience for RQMS students. As we plan the year's events, we keep the following learning goals in mind:
- to make global connections in order to develop global citizens
- to provide service opportunities that build students' leadership capacity
- to increase students' cultural awareness and communication skills
